This course is for anyone who is interested in how we grow into and through adolescence and on how better to understand and relate to the young people we work with. The training will provide an introduction to the strengths challenges and disturbances of adolescence and the interventions which are likely to be most effective. This training event will be facilitated on the topic of self harm in children and young people. The event aims to increase our understanding of self-harm, and explore the ways in which we may support those who present with this as coping strategy.Essential Information
The course will comprise of interactive activities, group discussions and the use of film to illustrate key topics.
The focus will be on the experiences of adolescents as victims of familial abuse; in particular the impact of sexual abuse on children and young people - a survivors account.
There will also be a presentaion by an ex CAIT officer regarding up to date legislaltion and an interactive session on Forensics.
