Adolescence is a time of life which is central to our sense of who we are. It is a time of intense emotion and of rapid change and growth. This course is for anyone who is interested in how we grow into and through adolescence and on how better to understand and relate to the young people we work with. The training will provide an introduction to the strengths challenges and disturbances of adolescence and the interventions which are likely to be most effective. It will cover the complex adolescent developmental process from a broad psychosocial perspective as well as taking into account biological influences on adolescent brain development.

The focus will be on the experiences of adolescents as victims of familial abuse; in particular the impact of sexual abuse on children and young people - a survivors account.
There will also be a presentaion by an ex CAIT officer regarding up to date legislaltion and an interactive session on Forensics.
