AIM
Following on from the WSCP Annual Conference. There wlil be a number of workshops focusding on the Key Learning from each child practice review (formerly SCR). Child A, Georgina and Grace both had a number of multi agency learning points.

IMPACT
This workshop will be focusing on the learning needs of parents. How we can improve on how we work in partnership when assessing risk and parenting capacity, offer help, support and advice to parents with learning needs or different learning styles.


LEARNING OUTCOMES
There will be references to research legislation and practical tools to support practitioners to understand parental learning needs and styles when addressing risk.(ADD/ADHD)


Trainer
Sarah Goff is an experienced researcher at Nottingham university. She has a background in social work and continues to work with children young people and their families ensuring that the voice of the child/ parent is heard thoughout.
Sarah understands Wandsworth having worked as a trainer on the SEND and MA training programmes for over 4 years.

Using a coaching approach expands thinking, deepens understanding and develops self-efficacy. It’s a challenging and supportive partnership which benefits both the leader and the setting by improving performance and well-being.

This programme will support the development of your skills as a SENCo/ Inclusion Lead, providing information and opportunities for discussion about the role. The sessions will provide practical support and strategies that can be implemented within your setting. The programme will be delivered by a range of professionals from different agencies including Wandsworth Early Years, Educational Psychology, Portage, Speech & Language Therapy and the Wandsworth Autism Advisory Service.

Your learning will be supported by the completion of a written case study assignment that is designed to be completed in stages to support your understanding and application of the contents of each session.

Participants are required to attend all sessions and discuss their assignment as part of the learning.

Acquire the knowledge to establish principles and standards in your work environment to reduce accidents.

This virtual training course will focus on the learning needs of babies and toddlers and the role of the adult in supporting them. It will be a mixture of theory and practical ideas or application of theory.

Complex developmental trauma can be understood as the experience of multiple and/or chronic and prolonged, developmentally adverse traumatic events (including abuse and neglect) in early life. Research shows us that traumatic childhood experiences can have a profound impact on many different areas of functioning (attachment, biological, sensory, physiology, social, emotional and psychological). If we are to best meet the needs of young people and minimise the risk of further trauma, a thorough understanding of developmental trauma and its impact is warranted for anyone working with children who have experienced early adverse trauma. This training will provide an introduction into complex developmental trauma, including a space to reflect on how such knowledge can be used to improve our work with young people.

This meeting is for Early Years Designated Safeguarding Leads (2 per setting only).
This meeting is an opportunity to receive and discuss safeguarding updates, receive information about new topics and discuss any pre proposed questions/cases.

This course provides an overview of how to support young children as they develop in terms of their identity and cultural awareness.

In Wandsworth the Early Help IT System (EHITS) is used by the workforce to record and share information, taken from the Early Help Assessment form, securely for children and young people that they are working with. EHITS can also be used to request services from organisations.
